Massimo Coccia is name partners of the firm Coccia De Angelis Vecchio & Associati. Mr. Coccia's practice focuses on sports law and commercial matters, both at Italian and, particularly, international level. He has extensive experience in arbitration law, being frequently appointed as counsel or arbitrator in national and international commercial or sports arbitration proceedings. He also has a remarkable experience in antitrust and intellectual property matters as well as entertainment law issues. In sports sector, Mr. Coccia has frequently assisted the Italian Government, the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI), national and international federations and leagues, clubs, coaches and athletes of various disciplines. Since 1995 he is one of the most distinguished arbitrators of the Court of Arbitration for Sport of Lausanne (CAS) and, as such, he has been a member of the Ad Hoc Arbitral Division for the Winter Olympic Games of Salt Lake City 2002 and Turin 2006. Since 2001 he is conciliator and arbitrator at the CONI Chamber for Sports Conciliation and Arbitration. In 2012 he also held the office of arbitrator in the “Ad Hoc Division” of the Court of Arbitration for Sport of Lausanne (CAS) at the London Olympic Games. Mr. Coccia’s mother tongue is Italian but he is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
