The Russian sport was disqualified until December 16, 2022 for violations of the anti-doping code and therefore Russian athletes will not be able to participate under their own flag in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and in the Beijing Winter Games in 2022. This was decided by the Arbitration Court dello Sport which also halved the request for a 4-year disqualification proposed on December 9, 2019 by the world anti-doping agency (Wada)
