The Lausanne CAS will resume the appeal arbitration procedure promoted by WADA, the international anti-doping agency, against the Chinese swimmer Sun Yang and FINA.
Previously, on January 3, 2019, the International Swimming Federation ascertained that Sun Yang had not violated anti-doping rules during an out-of-competition check.
The decision of the Swiss Federal Court, which removed the President of the Arbitration Board, resulted in the resignation of the entire board. The new arbitration panel, composed of Mr. Hans Nater (Switzerland), President, Mr. Jan Paulsson (France) and Mr. Bernard Hanotiau (Belgium) will meet on the day of the new hearing which will take place, via videoconference, in the week between 24 and 28 May.
At the end of the hearing, the Board will launch its deliberations and prepare the Arbitration Award. Consequently, the decision will not be announced at the end of the hearing, but at a later time.
